Ferries There are two ferry companies that provide daily ferry service to Contadora island.
Air Panama is the only regional airline in Panama. They usually have two flights daily to and from Panama city and Contadora island. A morning flight and a late afternoon flight. The flight is a short 20 minute flight between the city and Contadora. Sometimes the flight may stop first on Isla San Jose, another of the Pearl islands. This may delay your arrival between 30-60 minutes,
although it is a very scenic flight over the Pearl islands. Air Panama is not known for its on time departures and arrivals, so if you want to guarantee arriving in time to start your tour we recommend taking the ferry as they are much more reliable for on time arrivals. The price is just under $140.00 round trip and has discount prices for children 3 years old and younger and jubilados. www.AirPanama.com
We work closely with and highly recommend The Point Hotel.
Every room has a spectacular ocean view and a private porch to completely get away from it all. The Point Hotel is located right on Playa Galeon (where the ferries arrive) and near the airport and town center, The Point is the only hotel on the island with a swimming pool where you can refresh yourself in coolfresh water after a day in the sun and salty ocean water. Or have a drinknear the pool in the afternoon and watch the sunset over the islands.
Visit the Beach Bar for drinks on the beach. The gourmet chefs are happy to prepare a delicious lunch or dinner while you sit in the shade in your private gazebo on the beach.

Contadora Island is the only island in the Pearl island archipelago that is completely set up with tours, hotels, restaurants, daily ferry service and flights from Panama city. Contadora was once the 'place to go' for the rich and famous. It has many beautiful homes that have been owned and visited by Panamanian presidents and vice presidents, Christian Dior, the former Shah of Iran, John Wayne, among others and US president Jimmy Carter signed the treaty to give back the Panama
Isla Contadora is one of the Northern Pearl Islands located 35 miles (56 km) South of Panama City. It is easily accessed by a daily 20 minute flight or daily 1.5 hour ferry service. Our Whale Watching Panama office is located on Contadora at the Point Hotel above Playa Galeon.

Be prepared for getting your feet wet on this landing. The cost is $95.00/adult round trip, $76.00 round trip per child or jubilados. You can purchase tickets online. www.FerryLasPerlas.com

Ferry Las Perlas leaves from the Trump hotel in downtown Panama city. You can use their parking area for a small fee. This ferry leaves at 7:30 am with a 6:30 am check in, every day except Tuesdays. This ferry always stops first at Saboga island before it arrives on Contadora and again in the afternoon it stops on Saboga after leaving Contadora. It leaves Contadora at 3:30 pm to arrive back in Panama city at 5:30 pm. It is a faster ferry than Sea Las Perlas but with the Saboga stop it usually arrives between 15-30 minutes after the Sea Las Perlas ferry does on Contadora. This ferry is a bit more comfortable with cushioned bench seats and windows all around
canal on the island. Contadora was also the base for 3 seasons of the TV series "Survivor".
Today, Contadora is a perfect vacation destination that is still 'undiscovered' by many. You will find quiet, uncrowded, beautiful white sand beaches and friendly people ready to help you with any need or desire.
Contadora is a small island that you can easily walk from end to end in 30 minutes. Most people use golf carts as the main mode of transportation. There are 7 beautiful and uncrowded, white sand beaches, including Playa Sueca, the only official nude beach in the country. But, don't worry, it is rarely used for that. There are some beautiful coral reefs with colorful tropical fish and even sea turtles, for great snorkeling right off Playa Galeon, Sueca and Playa Larga.
*Important note: There are no ATM machines on the island and not everyone accepts credit cards, so be sure and bring enough cash for all your needs while on the island.
Sea Las Perlas leaves from the Amador area of Panama city, right in front of the Balboa Yacht Club and next door to the Country Inn & Suites Amador hotel and Friday’s restaurant. Parking is available on the street nearby. This ferry leaves at 7:30 am, with a 7:00 am check in, 7 days a week and is a nonstop trip to Contadora arriving around 9:15 am. It leaves Contadora at 3:30 pm to arrive back in Panama city at 5:15 pm. This ferry
